Front Page 2003 Locks up

I bought FRP2003 less than a month ago. I have had nothing but problems. It
locks up for no apparent reason. For example..this morning I simply wanted to
chnage font size on a three word phrase...as soon as I clicked on FONT, the
hourglass came on stayed on for about 15 minutes until I had to cold-start
the computer. While it was on, no other applications would open...not even
Crtl_Atl-Del. I have asked for help on other forums...nobody knows why this
happens. I have an AMD2600+ and 512 RAM and WinXP-SP2.

I don't understand a business that sells a product and then provides no help
when it doesn't work.

I think there's a lot of help available from MS. Online Knowledge Base, call in support, and a zillion Newsgroups like this one run by unpaid volunteers. Have you searched the Knowledge Base on microsoft.com?

If you describe your problem fully maybe someone here will be able to help..

Did you upgrade from previous version of FP?

Have you successfully published the web to your online host yet?

If your problems started after SP2...that could be the reason.

Were you working with a local copy of your Web or online when the
problem occurred?

Have you dumped your temp files, *.web files...etc?

You may have a corrupt font installed on your PC
In FP View Toolbars Customize Options turn off List font names in their font

If not
What do you have running in the background and what level of OS are you running

Also have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
(also clear your IE Temp files)
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE

4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
