You may need to review local, regional, and national requirements pertaining
to collection, storage and dissemination of patient information before
implementing a database program, of any kind.
Have you searched at Google.com? A system (in Access or any other
development environment) is designed to a specific set of requirements. In
most cases, you'll either have to modify the program to fit your situation,
or modify how you do business to fit how the program works...
How is it that you've already settled on Access as the tool for such a
database?

<Access MVP>
Hi Jeff
I see that you are a MVP that is a "microsoft valued professional". Its been
a long ride, I started with filemaker, could make some small databases then
got reinterested in access, have bought lots of books on access including
access inside out by John Viescas, who is also a MVP with microsft, and
access 2003 bible by Cary Prague, et al. I realised that I also need to know
visual basic to work smoothly with access. I have been learning both from
the last one year by reading books, but I realise that as I have taken 6
years to work in a proper professional medical school to become an
intensivist ( ICU Specialist) I cannot reach that level of expertise on my
own by reading books. There is a lot to learn and more than learn there is a
lot to learn to implement. I know till the "if and then " kind of loops in
visual basic v 6.0, but I am far from designing a huge database for myself in
access or flemaker or alpha five. It started as a hobby, I know certain
people in the alpha five community who are seasoned database programmers I
thought I could also learn , but I have failed. I wish I could find a book or
a professional on the net under whom I could design databases and work my
way up. Eventually I am full of hopes to design my own one day for my
hospital, but at present I would need one soon .
Thanks for replying Jeff and if you could guide me I would be grateful.
Sincerely
Dr Alok Modi MD
