"From Field" changes to "To Field" in Outlook 2003

This is really, really starting to irritate me.

I'm using Outlook 2003 on a business network with Exchange serving mail.
I've created a local PST file for saving my email messages and it's got two
folders: Received and Sent.

In the Received folder, I want the first column to be FROM and in the Sent
folder it should be TO (Because I know that the received emails are to ME
and the sent emails are from ME.)

I used the Field Chooser to set the columns the way I wanted, but every
once in a while, they switch back. It happens to both folders and as far as
I can tell, it's random, though I suppose I just haven't identified the trigger.

Has anyone else noticed this frustrating behavior? Is there a fix?

Danny,

That does sound crazy there are several service packs avaiable for 2003, I'd
back up the PST File and install the latest. I'm using outlook 2007 which is
10 times better than 2003 but none of the integration for the add-ons work
at all.

It's not crazy - it's the views. Please DO NOT suggest people install
Outlook 2007 - it's still very much a beta and can mess up their system.
Users connecting to Exchange need to speak with their admin if they want to
try Outlook 2007 at work.

Diane:

Thanks for the help. It's at best a workaround. I hope it is fixed in the
next version of Outlook.

Yes, it is a bug. I'm a programmer and very conscious of my environment.
The dang thing changes by itself in what appears to be a random fashion,
though it's probably not random. I've searched the newsgroups and found
only a few people asking the same question as me ... no answers or even
an attempt to answer. Not that I expect an answer from the newsgroup,
but I hope the Outlook team is aware of it, that's all.
