Fresh Install on box with multiple drives ?

Is there a way to ensure the system drive is shown as C: on a frest new
install when there are multiple drives in the system? The installation CD or
DVD does not create an issue but if there is a zip, or other removable type
drive in the system they seem to get logged ahead of the system drive and the
system drive can not be renamed to C: afterwards. Any ideas?

Jon, disconnect all drives except the system drive and cdrom drive.
Install XP and then reconnect the drives.
