have a 'system freezing' prohblem when trying to use any software to burn
DVD's or SVCD. I can burn video imported from my DV camcorder but cannot
burn downloaded videos saved on the hard drive be they AVI or MPEG. I can
burn data with no problems. As soon as it gets into the encoding phase the
system
freezes. I have tried a complete re-format and re-install of windows XP Pro
and SP2 but it still happens.I have a 2.8 AMD processor with 1024RAM and an
ATI Radeon 128meg video card. I have a 80g Seagate HD with loads of space(C:
&D:). I have tried Ulead 7. Nero 7 and AVS Video convertor. Same result on
all. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

I've seen this happen due to overheating of the processor. The encoding
process on large files can place a huge demand on the processor. If you have
your processor overclocked try setting it back.
