Here's the problem, I like the idea about being able to freeze the the panes of a worksheet. However I would like to freeze certain cells, for example I want to just freeze I1 through I10. The freeze panes option grabs A1 through I10 which is not what I want. Any ideas on how I could get around this?

Scott,

You can't freeze only part of a row or column. Freeze works only
on entire rows and/or columns.

Scroll the screen first, so only row I is showing, then freeze the pane.

Thanks Stephan

When I do that though, I can't see the data in columns A through H. I still want to be able to see the other data I just want I1 through I10 to not move when I scroll down

For that you might want to open a new window
so you have two views at the same time.
Window, New Window

You can switch views on the Window menu when you have
maximized your view..

To eliminate either view, use the [x] in upper right of the
spreadsheet (not the topmost [X] which would close Excel).
