freeze row heading in a form based on a Cross-tab query

Hi,

Can anybody give me a solution how I could freeze the first two columns of
my form (based on a cross-tab query), which contains the row headings. The
form has many columns and the first two columns should be always visible on
the screen when the user scrolls the table left/right. The form also contains
summary/total fields (both for columns and rows), therefore I cannot use
datasheet view.
Thanks in advance for the help.

You could make a separate subform to display just those fields, and place it
next to the scrolling subform.

You can freeze columns in a datasheet view just like you can in Excel. This
is an unsual bit in Access, because you don't do it in design view.
Open the form in Form View. Then on the Menu select Format and Freeze Panes.
Once you save the form, the columns will remain frozen.

Hi,

thanks for the advice about using a subform.
This worked on one of the forms, but the other has too many rows and columns.
What I have done is to split the form based on a crosstab query into two
subforms. One serving as the row header and the other, placed to the right
from it, showing the actual records. And I have embeded both of them as
subforms into a main form, which does not have any records, but serve only as
a layout.
The question is. How can I connect the two subforms, so that they scroll
vertically together? I want to use a continuous form view because of the
character of the data and design :)
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
cheers,
Edith
