freeze panes

i have a sheet with 2 tables of data and put the headings on the same row so
i could freeze panes at the headings for both tables and scroll through data
but one of the tables has autofilter and will not let me go to the top of
the other smaller table.
is there away to override this or how do i set the freeze pane for just the
big table

I don't think it's the freeze panes that's giving you the
problem. When you autofilter the one table, the rows get
hidden on both. You can't do anything about that if they
share the same rows. One way to deal with this would be
to have each table in it's own worksheet, and use
Windows/New Window (from the menu) to open two instances
of your workbook so you can view both sheets at the same
time.
