The truth is one, you must accept it. Reality is not a point of view, since
if everything was a point a view, then the theory that everything is a point
of view, is just a point a view and not something real.

Avast is the only AV that runs resident, scans E-mail and such.

AntiVir

Well, I have used Norton since about 1990 (give or take a year or two)
Recently, I wanted to get a back up AV program to check behind it.
So, I opted for AntiVir. Mainly cause I can use it as a portable
scanner.
I made an eicar test file and RAR'd it to test the penetration of both
scanners. NAV did not catch it when RAR'd only one time, but AntiVir
caught it. Very impressive.
Consequently, I went through a lot of trouble to un-install NAV...left
a lot of registry values behind, etc.
I now have Kaspersky installed_Payware_ < which found a
backdoor.Win32.hackarmy.j trojan in : C:\system volume
information\restore > and deleted it...I thought this could only be
deleted w/ restore turned off and run in safe mode ?
But there is no trace of it left in my registry........even after a
reboot :) NAV nor AntiVir never saw it....
Anyway, I like AntiVir's good showing for penetrating RAR/Zip and cab
files and I still use it as a back-up for manual scans. To be sure
though, I have only used it for a short time...
