Anyone know of a good freeware program to make simple, basic, black on
white business cards??

Tried googling ... got all kinds of "free downloads" ... with all
sorts of prebuilt designs and stuff ... all I want is basic printing.

Thanks in advance,

Ken

VistaPrint offers 250 free business cards as long as you stick to one
of its 42 design choices.

They're nice cards (the designs change all the time), but the "free"
cards are adware.

They have a VistaPrint advert on the back of every card.

Free? This from their website:

Are your free product offers really free?

Yes! You pay only for postage and processing and for any product
upgrades that you make to the product. If you want to get your free
product faster, expedited delivery is also available for an additional
charge.

I've ordered "free" cards from VistaPrint. Their shipping is high. So
high, that the total shipping for 1000 "free" VistaPrint cards is
higher than the cost of buying 1000 cards at Office Depot.

However, if you only need 250 cards, then it is cheaper since you
can't get 250 cards from O.D. AFIK.

Other posters complained about their relatively discreet watermark on
the back of each card. That is such a non-issue that I never noticed
it. I ordered 250 cards from them and was satisfied with the shipping
fee, though delivery took a long time at the low rate I chose. IMO,
VistaPrint's offer is definitely freeware.

I wouldn't call it "freeware", but the bottom line is I would order
from them again if I only needed 250 cards or less, but not if I
needed 500 or 1000.

I second this. It is a big d/l but the combination of ease &
flexibility is high. We used it to create a quick run of business cards
& letterhead. We "printed" it to pdfcreator and walked it down to the
local printers.

They could've printed it out w/o a problem but we asked for a couple of
tweaks, no problem.
