Thanks to all; I had Easy Cleaner 1.74; didn't know it was a disk cleaner
(thought just for registry entries) nor that there was a new version, but
got it updated to 2.0 now.
BeClean looks like a nice app, and so I've d/l and installed it too. Thanks
to everyone.

Just a small pointer: if you're using BeClean, and *don't* want it to scrub
all your cookies by default, then in Settings/Internet make sure to
*uncheck* the box for Internet Clean: Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.

Afaik the recommended alternatives are NOT secure disk cleaners, i.e.
deleted files (and TOC) can be (partly) undeleted. What's wrong with
Eraser anyway?

really want to pay for software. After all, a gifted programmer
who turns out a truly usable, well-crafted work of code, deserves
support!

alternative site. That site imposes a fee for downloading. This
should satisfy your assumption that I'm ignorant.
With Susan's helpful correction, I found the "right" site and
read all the pages. This is a really impressive body of work from
a 14-year-old boy!
As far as my being "rude and obnoxious," all I can say in my
defense, Kjolemore, is that I used to be conceited, but I am now
perfect.
