I just spent 2 hours looking for a free way to edit MOV files in
MovieMaker. This is a very well done solution I finally found:

It is called Prism Video Converter and is a free/lite version of their
more advanced for purchase converter software. Although this free
version looks like it will convert most any format to most any format I
have only tested it for MOV ==> WMV.
This is the only piece of free software I could find that actually
worked. I hope Poppa John will read this and put the link on his page;
his link to "Pazera Free MOV to AVI Converter 1.0" no longer works.
I have installed the software on my Vista64 SP2 system and it installs
and runs fine.
