Free Sample prints

This started off as an adventure asking Kodak for a sample print form
their Easyshare or ESP series. Kodak tech support doesn't seem to
know about sample prints, which is unusual for a company that sells
printers.

But since I looked into it I'll share the links I know about, so users
of this group can make an informed choice when buying a printer.

[HP http://www.hp.com/sbso/productivity/color/print_samples.html ]

HP offers sample prints from various models including a couple of
consumer inkjet solutions.

[EPSON

]

The link might not work, but epson at the very least offers a sample
print from their prosumer models such as the r1900.

{ Canon http://www.trymyphoto.com }

Canon seems to be the only company that offers the user the ability to
order free prints printed on their Pixma Pro 9000, 9500, and SELPHY
ES2 4x6 (I presume dyesub). The pixma pro prints are 8x10 and 8.5x11
respectively. As in, you send them image, you get a print.

But as I don't know the entire web, it may be possible these other
companies offer something similar. But even so if you're in the
market for a printer.

Hmmm... interesting and disappointing, especially since every store I
have go into that carries teh Kodak products has a stack of sample 4 x 6
prints for the taking next to the printer. They are obviously factory
printed,,not from the store. I don't understand why they wouldn't have
some available to mail out. Weird marketing.

Well, I don't want to get all conspiracy theory just yet. It may be
that the support an information group I contacted were just an
outsourced group who don't have any hands on exposure to the product,
which would also be somewhat disappointing.

But it also could be they are a young player on the market and simply
haven't given any thought to marketing their product.

To this end I've resorted to faxing them, though their fax numbers are
not well documented.

Kodak is an experienced player in both the printing and imaging biz as
well as the inkjet printer biz. They marketed several different inkjet
printers under their branding many years before manufacturing their own.
They also made/make dye sub printers and photocopiers and used to
provide samples when asked. I have some on file.

You may have hit the wrong person or department, and if not, your
feedback might prove helpful in getting them back in the groove.
