Does anyone know if once the finally release of Microsoft
AntiSpyware comes out if Microsoft plans on charging for
it or will it be like IE (free).

Also, does anyone know when the schedule release of the
product?

Thanks !

Schedule as I think, Beta 2 soon, Final version this summer.

At the RSA conference, Bill Gates announced the consumer and
enterprise strategy for Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware.
"The personal version of the final Windows AntiSpyware
software (will be) available at no additional charge to
licensed Windows customers as part of the Windows value
proposition. The offering will offer full functionality to
consumers, including the ability to detect and remove
spyware, continual protection that helps guard against more
than 50 ways that Web sites and programs can put spyware on
a PC, and protection against the latest threats through the
combined efforts of the SpyNetT community and Microsoft
researchers. For business customers, with more complex
infrastructure support, management and deployment needs,
Microsoft plans a managed anti-spyware solution that will be
available as part of a paid solution."

Where did you get that about summer Plun? I thought I read some time at the
end of this year, closer to the final release of Internet Explorer 7, which
is also expected the end of this year. We are still early in the testing
phase and like Plun said a beta 2 is expected. At RSA Conference, Bill Gates
announced that the program will be free to all licensed Windows users, which
I suspect means, it will be a part of Genuine Advantage program.

And Enterprise Edition is also in the works with features for Central
Management and Group Policy that will come at a cost.

Rumours ! We also comes closer 12 th of April when SP2 must
be installed.

Beacuse of all trouble with SP2 installs I think MS really
want this
product to be ready as soon as possible and to avoid that
more users
going over to Firefox or Netscape 8 (during beta test,
really ugly....)

And this is NOT a real Beta, this Giant product has been in
production
but I think MS is surprised over so many problems with this
Beta.
