EAC seems to make the most flawless conversions from cd to mp3. Unless I am
concerned about converting from a bad recording I use either cdex or
dbpoweramp. The last is the best overall converter available and should you
ever want to convert other formats besides wav or mp3 you will be able to. http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

That was me! You will need to get a copy of the CDRIP.DLL file from a
version older than 1.51, and copy that to your installed 1.51. Seems
there's some problem with the newer file. I found that info on a forum
hosted by the CDEX website. There's a link to a website where you can
download that particular file, without having to download an entire
older version. I did as the forum poster suggested, and my new CDEX
1.51 works like a champ.
Lakeside
other superb option is using EAC, another free ripper
