up to Linux and just all round friendly Linux Advocacy...

I am offering FREE copies of KNOPPIX 4.0.2, GENTOO 2006.0 Live CD or
GENTOO 2006.0 MINIMAL INSTALL on CDR media.

....just pay the shipping...

The actual deal is; send me a request for a copy, include your SNAIL MAIL
address and optionally your phone number and I'll mail your requested copy
via the U.S. Mail. When you get the package, send me the funds equal to
the amount required to send you the mailer.

That's it.

Linux users and non-American residences need not reply. ;')

Cheers.

If you were indeed concerned about helping users, why are you
multi-posting your same message across the groups rather than submitting
a single cross-posted copy?

Or - they can download and burn their own..
Perhaps ask a friend to do it for them if they do not have high-speed
internet and/or a burner.

I don't know about everyone else - but trusting a CD burned and sent to me
in the mail is not something I would generally do.

Too lazy I guess. My offer still stands.

True enough, but there are a lot of people out there that don't have
broadband or know how to ftp or even burn an iso to cdr...

My offer still stands.

Most people who would want/be able to install and use Linux would be able to
find a friend/neighbor/do it from work/ask a computer store/go to a wireless
access point available place/etc and get a copy of Linux in some way.

Others who want to install/use linux and have no other choice would be
better off buying a book that includes a CD of linux with it - so they have
instructions and the CD. They can do that over the Internet if they are
truly that isolated.

If you are sending it via media mail - it may actually be faster for the
dial-up people to download linux themselves.

Not that I don't appreciate the sense of your offer - I just don't see any
benefit for anyone who wants to use linux and needs help in doing so.
Someone as isolated as your audience would have to be - could get a book and
CD - so they would have instructions, and as you have specified that "Linux
users need not apply"; they are going to need the instructions anyway.
