Even users still on dial-up would get it faster by downloading it than
waiting for it to show up in the snail mailbox. Many distros come as
ISO files. If the user doesn't have CD burning software to lay the ISO
image onto a CD-R[W], they could use daemon-tools (which is free) as a
virtual CD/DVD drive. Some distros will even send you their CD - and
for free (no shipping costs at all).

For various versions of UNIX, see:

Or - they can download and burn their own..
Perhaps ask a friend to do it for them if they do not have high-speed
internet and/or a burner.

I don't know about everyone else - but trusting a CD burned and sent to me
in the mail is not something I would generally do.

Sounds good to me. Do you want my social security and credit card number
too? Or will you quietly get that after I've installed your CD? Although I
bet there won't be anything in my mail box except snail mail spam after
sending you my address.

Spammer!

Spammer!

The CDR I have are freely downloadble off the net. If you are that paranoid,
you check what I send you by matching md5 checksum of the cdr to the image
on the net...

Spammer? You're kidding right? I'll never totally recoup the costs of what I
offer.

Matter of fact, YES. I average about 8 or 10 cdr's a week via US Mail and I
hand out... literally hundreds a year. The handouts are totally without
cost...

Where can you download them???

Then you should stick to the handouts. Unless you have some nefarious
reason to collect people's personal info.

You really should take your paranoia medicine....

Google is your friend. Just pick out a linux distro you are interested in,
do a quick google search then ftp the image to your hard drive then burn a
copy to CDR...

Free and legal.

You're making money off the shipping ;-)

Say what? Hmmm less than $1.50 any where in the USA... Yeah... that will
make me rich... never mind what it costs me to make the CDR's....

Substitute "download" for "ftp" - as it is not necessary to use ftp to
download the images in most cases.

Yeah right. I'm gonna trust some idiot offering something that I can
get for free all on my own! [heavy sarcasm]

It's not paranoia, that is just common sense not to trust giving my
personal information to that idiot.
