free freeware upload site...

Hello:

After several years of distributing my freeware on Winsite, they
decided that I was not supplying enough contact information and deleted
all the freeware. It seems that an email address would suffice, but
suddenly after five years it was not enough. Can anyone tell me of a
site or sites that store the freeware on site without requiring an
additional url to a devoloper's site? I am not going to pay for space
to distribute my freeware any longer.

Thanks:

Darn...nice! What's the catch?

I'm NOT the censorious type, but I've been looking through a few of the
"random images" available at the site and a fair few were hardcore porn
(with no age content type warning) - So it might be a site parents don't
want to recommend to their kids!

Thanks for the heads up. That site will certainly not do.

Why pay ? There are free web hosts.

Did Winsite charge you ? If not then find out what "contact
information" they wanted you to have. Then all you need do is have a
web page with that information on.

Doesn't your existing ISP provide free web space ? If the files are
carried by Winsite I doubt they would object to you having a web site.

Were you intending upgrading any of your freeware and/or adding
anything new ?

Have you contacted http://www.all4you.dk/FreewareWorld/links.php ?

Regards, John.

You could look here and find one maybe:

http://www.freewebspace.net/

Most likely there will be some kind of advertising or other catch on
your site with any of the "free" website hosts though.

No such thing as a free lunch. 80)>
