free disk space

Does the 20% free disk space still apply in Windows and where might I find a
discussion to this issue?

Depends exactly what you are refering to (Other than simply win)
If you mean Disk Cleanup wont run because of lack of free space, then yes

It's a matter of judgement. 20% is reasonable. Below 15% is not enough.

Why do you ask? How large is your hard disk and how much free disk
space?

Hope this helps.

What 20% free space? Are you asking whether you always need to have 20% free
space?

My answer is a strong "No." There is no *percentage* that you need (except
that the built-in Windows defrag requires 15% free space). You need enough
free space and to do things like have the page file grow as needed. How much
space that is has nothing to do with a percentage. If you have a 10GB drive
with 20% free, you will probably very quickly run into problems with only
2GB free. But if your drive is a 250GB one, having 20% of it (50GB) free, or
even less, is very likely just fine.

You need enough free space

Sorry, words omitted. That should be "You need enough free space to
save\install additional files in the future,,,"
