Free/Busy - automatic update of information not working

We have a small office 3 person LAN and are trying to share calendars (we are
NOT using Exchange). I have set up free/busy to publish to a file URL on one
of the PC's and the vfb files have been created successfully. I have adjusted
the update settings on each PC to update the vfb files every 5 minutes
however this is not working. When selecting the manual update (via
send/receive) the files are updated successfully.

Can anyone provide some insight into this problem?

I am hoping that you found a solution to this problem because I am
experiencing the same. I have been unable to find anyone who has explained
why the automatic update is not working. If you have found a solution, I
would be grateful if you posted it.
