Framework 2.0 not running

Please, someone help me.

I have Vista and Framework 2.0 (86). Am I supposed to have framework 3.0?
And if so, where can I get it for Vista? I tried downloing it from
Microsoft, but it said that I need XP for it. As it is, I can't get the 2.0
version to run. Everytime I start it, it stops after about 5 seconds. I
need this to get my Zune software installed on my new computer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Vista ships with .Net framework 3.0 already installed. You cannot get
it without .Net 3. .Net v3 is is actually .Net 2.0 with WPF (Windows
Presentation Foundation), WCF (Windows Communications Foundation), WF
(Workflow Foundation) and CardSpace added on.

On Vista you won't be able to install any version of .Net before version 3.

Thanks

I don't think that's accurate.
While installing a MP3 tag application, (either Media Monkey or
Albumartfixer) I was instructed to install .net 1.1 which I did and then
installed the application.

That is correct, you can install versions of the framework previous to 2.0
on Vista.

There is nothing for you to do. Vista includes the 3.0 framework, which is
the 2.0 framework plus some additional functionality. Are you getting
errors installing the Zune software? If so, make sure you have downloaded
the latest version from http://www.zune.net.

..Net Framework 2.0 is a proper subset of .Net Framework 3.0. You don't have
to install 2.0.

You do have to install 1.1 if you want it.. 1.0 is not supported.
