Fragmented VPC files (VHD) won't Defragment

I run VPC on my Windows XP Pro SP2 machine on a HP/Compaq nc6230 laptop with
a couple of base images. When I run Windows Disk Defragmenter it does not
defragment one of the VHD files. There are two on the hard drive so the other
one is apparently defragmenting.

I saved the log file and under the files that cannot be defragmented section
there is one file. What's interesting is that only one VHD file won't
defragment.

I am new to VPC so I'm wondering if there is something that needs to be done
to the VHD file to make it able to be defragmented.

Is there reason to be concerned about a fragmemted VHD file on a hard drive?
Will it have a signifigant impact on performance?

Thanks,
Aaron

Why dont you try a third party tool? you could try out a free version
perhaps and see if it works.

It's possibly because there isn't contiguous free space that size of that
file.
