FP98 to FP2000

O

Offen Rong

I'm moving from a Win98 machine to a WinXP with the service pack installed.
I have the original FP98 disc, and want to install FP 2000 upgrade, which I
also have, on the new machine. The WinXP is preinstalled on the new
machine.
The FP98 software has worked well for me. If I am right, I will open the
remote site and publish down to FP2000.
Is there anything that I have to do prior to installing FP2000, such as
installing IIS. The web site is located on a remote server and not on my
computer. TIA

1. DO NOT install FP98.

2. You can only install IIS and the extensions, if you have Windows XP Pro, Home doesn't support any
MS web server or the FP extensions.

3. Once you have FP2000 installed, open the remote site in FP (remote server must have the FP
extensions installed) and publish to c:\mywebsite (Home) or http://localhost/mywebsite (Pro).

I'll try this after Bellsouth gets my new XP system working with my DSL
modem. On the phone with them for over an hour yesterday, and no joy.
Dang, I hate to change computers. Thanks.
