FP2003 after a month

A month ago I upgraded from FP98 to FP 2003. After a bit of stumbling
around figuring out how to import my existing webs, how to open a web, and a
few other simple actions, I am now on track. I really like this FP 2003 --
if you are considering the upgrade, do it -- there are enough differences
between FP 98 and FP 2003 that it takes a bit of getting accustomed to but
you'll catch on quickly.

Actually, I bought the full version -- that's in case the HD crashes and I
need to restore it.

FP98 to FP2003 is a quantum leap. Most people pretty much worked their way up from 98 to
2000 or 2002 and then 2003.

If you're feeling comfortable with 2003, pat your self on the back.

I am curious on how much it helps one use CSS, especially with positioning
and the use of layers.

FP2002 did not provide any help with designing layers. In contrast, FP2002
did provide assistance in the development of tables that made it possible to
do trial-and-error development and be able to see what the effects of color
and style changes were in WYSIWYG mode. The ability to drag table and cell
borders was a great aid. One could not do this sort of stuff in FP 2002.

Can you do this sort of stuff in FP 2003 with layers?

Unfortunately, 2003 did not add any new CSS improvements. Though there are
so many other impureness such as DWTs, javascript behaviors to replace the
java hour buttons, etc. that the upgrade is still with getting.

I can 't argue about that!

Freudian slip maybe?

On the whole it does a much better job of handwriting recognition than I
would have ever expected. Unfortunately, my proofreading skills are very
rusty. Especially when multitasking.

If you have the FPp 98 disk then the upgrade version would have been OK since it
is a 'qualifying product' - as long as you prove you have a previous version (it
doesn't need to be on the computer since FP 98 won't run on XP,but it should at
least still qualify for the upgrade to FP2003.
