FP2000 won't install on XP

I use FrontPage2000 on my WindowsME fine, and wanted to install it on a new machine running XP and it acts like it installs but it isn't actually there. Does XP not allow this older (1999) version 3.0?

FP2000 is version 4. Version 3 is FP98.

FP2000 is supported under Windows XP.

ah so, very interesting. i'm seeing a disturbing trend here re:WINXP & M$FP
i've built and maintained a M$FP 2000 Website for years without incident
yesterday, i created screenshot images from my WINXP and tried to Publish
from my ME machine as always (four years for this Web)
guess, what?
it WILL NOT accept at least one of these images even after deleting the
image from the Images Folder in the Web and re: importing it and re-making
the _small image! (twice i did this)
I've helped people here for years and have read problems like this but never
experienced them myself until using this bloody XP stuff
and all did was import it across my network from an XP machine
after Publishing the Web over twenty times (yes folks, that's 20) it would
be fair to say i'm fairly p***ed with FP right about now
thnx for listening to the whine . .. dammed if i know what to try next
the pages look perfect on my ME computer, Normal or Preview (all images are
there all thumbnails works)

P.S. yes, the nav bars are screwed too . . . you gotta love this program

The key word here is "import."

Never "import" a web. Always "Publish" it to a new location in order to
maintain
the integrity and structure of the web.
If it's a live web on a server, Use File > Open Web... and open the web and
Publish it
back to the new computer.

If you have to move it via CD. Publish to a folder, burn the folder to the
CD.
Copy the folder to new machine, Remove all of the "Read only" attributes
from the files ( All files are marked read only when burned to a CD )
and then open the folder and publish it to a location on your new machine.

Why did you use import, you should always publish between machines.

Are any of these image more than 1 MB in file size? If so then you need to
reduce them to be less than 1 MB.

thanks for your help and patience
i republished again today
i failed to report here an error message reveived from the ISP's server
"server error: Cannot close file "index.htm.tmp"
this was even using Publish All overwriting (this error ended the Publishing
session)
i took a look at the folders in WS_FTP and i cannot find this *.tmp file
any suggestions welcome

p.s. the missing .jpg is 32kb (its name and filesize show up in the empty
box where it should be).
p.p.s. i tried changing the theme but the image still will not show up;
i looked for the missing image file using WS_FTP and its not there

That is a host server issue, most likely a permissions issue but could be a
temp space issue.
