I read somewhere (don't remember where) that FP2003 is on par with
Dreamweaver and MUCH improved over 2000. I have 2000 and want to upgrade to
something but haven't decided on what yet. I hadn't planned to getting into
web design but have run into quite a few individuals and small businesses
who have asked me to design somewhat basic webs.

Any comments on FP2003 vs 2000 or does anyone know about the comparison to
Dreamweaver.

FP 2000 is a great tool and I really enjoyed it. Technically, it was on par
with Dreamweaver as good design and coding is reeally based on the user, the
tool just helps a bit. FP 2003 offers a lot of additional features that
bring it's set more on the line with Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is pretty
pricey though so I would recommend FP 2003 because you can get the upgrad
(just make sure you still have the FP 2000 CD to upgrade properly).

Hope this helps,

Some would not agree that it is on a par with Dreamweaver. This version of
FP is more like Dreamweaver version 4 which is pretty out of date now.
That's not to say that you can't do a fine job with FrontPage though.

Don't buy Fp2003. It doesn't work with daqtabase
retreivals, and Microsoft's answer is not: "We'll fix it,
sorry": It's "change to .NET programming" ! And no other
attempt to acknowledge or fix the problems. It ruined my
working FP 2000 sites when I changed to FP 2003

FrontPage 2003 can indeed work with databases, using either ASP or ASP.Net.
If you can't make it work, don't blame the software; blame yourself. There
are plenty of people out there who are using it successfully.

Microsoft's answer to what? I have never in my 8 years as an MVP heard
Microsoft say anything like that.
