FP2000 Publishing Problem

D

I am using FP2000 here at work. I use it for three
websites, each with a different domain name. The ISP I use
has the FP extensions installed and tells me the
extensions are enabled for the three websites. Up until a
week ago, I had been able to publish all three websites
via HTTP with no problems. Now when I try to publish two
of the websites, I receive a message-- Server error:
cannot change permissions on file "topcolor.html." which
stops the publishing process. The file referenced puzzles
me, because as far as I know, I am not using a file named
topcolor.html. Any suggestions you have to help me past
this publishing block is much appreciated.

You need to contact your host and ask them to run a check on the extensions and/or check the
permissions for the web.

Thanks for your input Thomas. I have been in contact with
my host. They say the permissions are accurate and
working. As far as checking the extensions, all they seem
to be able to do is tell me the extensions are enabled. I
can make "live updates" to the websites. One of my host's
contacts says that I should use FTP instead. Which
confuses me...I thought with FP extensions enabled, HTTP
is the preferred way to publish FP webs. I guess the gist
of it all is my host insists this is a "FrontPage
problem." Would working live and then publishing those
changes back to my "local copy" help in any way?

Do not use FTP. The host has a function that they can run to check the extensions.

Working live may or may not solve the problem.
