FP2000 hit counter doesn't work

Hi everyone. We're running FP2000, and ever since we
switched ISPs our hit counter won't work. It just shows
up as a box with an x in it, and the words "hit counter".

I had some other transitional problems, as well, and found
the ISP did not have current server extensions. After
this newsgroup made me aware of the problem, I notified
them and they fixed it. However, the hit counter still
doesn't work.

I think it's something to do with the server, because I'm
doing the same things I did with the old ISP and the hit
counter worked there. The ISP says they have all the
latest extensions and so it must be something that I'm
doing with the software, and THAT'S the reason the hit
counter doesn't work. I've tried deleting and re-
installing the hit counter, but I get the same box with
the x in it.

Can someone please tell me what the problem is, and how to
fix it? Also, we are upgrading to 2003 later this month,
and I'm very much afraid that the newer version will give
us even more problems with this ISP. Comments? Thank you!

Ask the host to run a check on the extensions and/or check the permissions on the _private folder.

Also open the live site directly in FP, remove the hit counter, save the page, then re-open the page
and add the hit counter back. Then if you need to reset the count, open the _private folder, then
the pagename.htm.cnt file in notepad and change the number, but not the total number of characters.
