FP is opening weird

Ok, I've been having problems with my frontpage stalling and not being able
to publish my web successfully. I contacted my host and they told me to
delete all my files that started with "_" (and underscore) and a .htaccess
file. After deleteing all of that some things were fixed, but now when I go
to my live site and click on "edit with frontpage" (I have to, that's the
only way it shows up correctly), now it's not showing my shared borders or
giving me the option of making new borders, publishing my web, recalculating
hyperlinks and other options. Why did I do now? It's driving me crazy!!

Have your host re-install the FP extensions for your account.

Your ISP Control Panel should let you uninstall the extensions and reinstall
the FP extensions.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his
absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay
the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a
great power among men.

In my ISP control panel I did deactivate and then I reactivated my frontpage
extensions and that didn't change anything. It's very weird, I never had my
fp open this way. Is it most likely because of my fp extensions?

Contact your web host and ask them to run a check on the extensions.

They keep telling me to deactivate and reactivate and then it should be fine.
I'll ask them to check it out - Thanks!!

Un-install and re-installing will not fix permission issue, unless the extensions are totally
removed from the account.

Why is that scary?! The files that my host adds to the site usually start
with an underscore. Shouldn't they???

You said your host said to delete all files with an _underscore. That's
scary.

Now, you say the files your host adds usually start with an _underscore.

So, what's even more scary is that your comments are very confusing.

Tom is just confused. He wasn't insulting you.

I think I understand. The problem is:

(1) FrontPage uses files that it creates with underscores.
(2) Your host adds files that have underscores.
(3) Your host told you to delete all files with underscores, which you did.

This, of course, deleted all of the host's hidden folders, as well as all
the FrontPage-necessary folders.

At this point, I'm thinking that it might be best to open the remote web and
recalculate hyperlinks. Then re-publish your local web to the remote site,
all of it, no "changed pages only."
