FP Hit counters

Is there, some setting that will stop the FP hit counters count my own
visits to my web site? Due to my many visits to the site, (checking out
updates, guest book, forum etc.), the present FP hit count is very
exaggerated. I know this, because I subscribe to a hit statistics
service that also gives me the hit count, but somehow manages to ignore
my own visits to the site.

Also, due to a mistake on my part I had to re-initiate the whole site,
which of course effectively destroyed the existing status of all the
different hit counters (I have put one on several different pages in
order to see which pages visitors navigate to) Is there some simple way
I can do a daily backup of all the count files (which files/where?) so
that they can be restored in case of new mishaps.

There is no setting that you can set to exclude your visits when using the
FP Hit counter.

The counts are stored in the _private folder on your live site under the
pagename.htm.cnt
