Does it have POP3 before SMTP (required by a number of email services
for authentication)?

i don't think so...
not find a such automatisation feature
but i i use to (manually) POP before SMTP and it works great ;-)

One big problem with that Foxmail version, in finnish language version
of Windows '98 Second Edition it only displayed chinese letters on my
screen. Installation was chinese, I managed to get it installed blind
but the whole program was in chinese...

For everyones info:

I downloaded and installed the newest version and the only problem I had was the subject headers
did not show. Sent an e-mail to Allan C (Foxmail expert) and he kindly told me to "export
all the e-mails to file" (I created a folder for them on my desktop) and then delete
all of the messages in Foxmail and then import them again from the exported folder and problem was solved.

I wonder if someone can answer a Foxmail tech question for me.

I see that Foxmail 5b1 lets you choose SSL for POP3 and SMTP. I'm able
to connect via SSL to my email server, and I can receive and send, but
I'm not sure that SSL is working for SMTP. I say this because the
expanded header of messages send this way don't show any indication
that SSL has been used (which they normally do if things are working
properly).

Can anybody else confirm that SSL does indeed work properly with SMTP
in Foxmail 5b1?

Thanks.
