Foxit PDF Reader

Anyone here familiar with this free PDF reader please?
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php

Just started playing with it, but don't appear to be able to get it
integrated with my browser (Firefox). According to several sources,
such as
http://www.snapfilespro.com/gnomeapp.php?id=108789
it does have that facility.

D-clicking a PDF on my HD opens it (very quickly) in Foxit. But when I
visit a link to a PDF, I initially get a message to the effect that
Adobe Acrobat Reader is not associated with PDF and so cannot open it,
and would I like to correct that. I answer No - and surprisingly it
then *does* open in Firefox.

Thanks, that explains it. Pity, that's a downside. I don't want to
uninstall Adobe to test Foxit.
I just did a check. It integrates inside IE/Avast, as stand alone with
Opera (8.5) but as you point out Firefox(1.0.7) does not recagnise it.
However I'm sure it used to!
I have posted the query to the Firefox newsgroup.

In Firefox Beta 1, go to Tools-->Options-->Downloads. Under Download
Actions, click View and Edit Actions, then change the PDF line to "Use
the Default" button.

yes, in firefox you initially have to manually set it to recognize pdf
files for foxit; and i think foxit can do this for you as well under
options; i took off acrobat reader once i started using foxit.

That did it.
I still cannot work out why Foxit keeps THREE different .exe files.

Doh!
I have obviously saved three different versions.
Better if they kept the same name (my excuse)

I replied to prospero33 earlier, but seems to have vanished. Essence
of it was: I *have* no PDF entry in that box. (Just 3 entries, not
sure where they came from.) Did you add the PDF entry yourself?

Yes. In case you missed it: I had saved three versions of the exe file in
the same folder. All working now thank you )

-- No. Please note I'm using the Beta 1 of Firefox, and that might be
an addition.
