Found New HW looks to DVD drive

When attaching our USB device, the Found New HW is
displayed and we choose the "automatic" feature, but this
is not working properly for us. For some reason it is
always searching the DVD (D:) drive, in addition to all
directories specified under the DevicePath registry
entry. The actual INF file to use is located in the
C:\Windows\inf folder. It finds this quickly but then
continues on to search the D: drive even though it is not
in the DevicePath. This takes too long and users will
become impatient. How can we get this to not search the
DVD drive?!?!
