Forumla calculation

I know this has to be an easy one, but I can't figure it out - Please help:
Formula: If the month in cell A6 matches the month in cell C2 then return
value from cell B6
Problem: them month in A6 may be any given day in March, depending on the
date of purchase, but the month in cell C2 is always 3/1/05
Any suggestions?

Assuming all dates are entered as dates that Excel recognizes...
=IF(MONTH(A6)=MONTH(C2),B6,"No match")

You can replace "No Match" with a different response, or the value of
your choice.

Try =IF(MONTH(A6)=MONTH($C$2),B6,"")
