formulas show instead of values

I'm working in a large spreadsheet (30mb) and when I add
more formulas (vlookups or direct link to a cell),
sometimes the formula shows instead of the value. It's
weird. It's not every cell. It's just some and it doesn't
seem to follow a pattern.

Possible suggestion:
Go to the cell and press "Ctrl"+ "`" .
"`" is the key below "ESC" on a laptop.
