Formula to calculate text or letter in cell

Hi All

I've done this before, but cant remember how and I cant find anything
in help or on the internet.

I need a formula to calculate whether a specified cell has text
letters in it or numbers in it.

Does anyone have the answer?

=ISTEXT(A1)

will return TRUE or FALSE
