formula not working

I have a simple formula I am using...=Sheet2!B2

for some reason it will not work in one column. It works fine everywhere else. In this one column, it just shows the formula. Any suggestions?

I am using excel 2003 on a win xp pro machine.

Sounds like the cell you are putting it is formatted as text.

It sounds like the column is formatted as text. Change the format to General and then re-enter the formula
