Formula in one box/result in another

I think this is simple enough. I want cell B1 to contani a number. In cell
B2 I want the actual formula, but not the result. I would like the result
to show in C2. It would like it to look like this:

A B C
10
2*B1 20

I'm not really up on Excel, but it would seem I need to assign a variable to
2*B1 and have that variable show in C2.

Hope I make sense.

Thanks for any help.

I got it, ran it,and it works great. But, tell me, does this mean there is
no way to do it without adding functions to Excel?

Thanks.

Correct. It's not built-in functionality. Using it reduces the efficiency of
minimal recalculation.

Yep, you can write your own UDF or use
let someone lese write it for you like with morefunc.
Besides there are tons of other nice functions there as well
No built in excel function will do it
