Formula Help with Lists

I need to be able to pull a list from series of data without sorting or
filtering...
Example:
A1 B1
Jim Boy
Ann Girl
John Boy
Tina Girl

Then if I Type "Boy" in cell A6,
I can use =index(A1,match(A6,B1:B4,0)) to get "Jim" in A7 but how can I get
John in A8?

The actual list is much more complicated but I hope that this gives an idea
of what I need to do.

Not sure of the logic you are looking for..
Is this it:?
You want a user to type "boy" and be offered the available list of boys?
User selects from list and ends "transaction"????

Have you thought about using the Auto-Filter?

Seems perfect for it.
