Formula for Last Saved on outside of Header/Footer

I am wanting to have a cell reference that displays the Date the file was
last saved on. Or unless someone knows of another way for me to display on
my spreadsheet "Updated on .............". I don't want to use it in the
Header/Footer section though.

I am not real good with VBasic so a formula like =cell(filename",A1) would
be good.

Hi Kempster

Try this event in the Thisworkbook module that run when you save your workbook
It will fill in the date in Sheets("Sheet1").Range("a1").

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, _
Cancel As Boolean)
'If you save the file the date will be placed in cell A1 of Sheet1
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("a1").Value = "Updated on " & Date
End Sub
