Formula Displaying in cell

I am trying to link a cell in one worksheet to a cell in another worksheet. The formula is correct, but THE FORMULA is showing in the cell and not the information from the linked cell

I have checked under Tools > Options > View and the formulas box is NOT checked. Am I missing something? There is an entire block of cells that this is happening with. The sheet/book is NOT protected. All values are set to general because the linked cell contains both numbers and letters.

Probably not. They're more likely to be formatted as text.
Format as General and re-enter, or find and replace "=" with"="

Hi
your cell is probably formated as 'Text'. Goto 'Format - Cells' and
choose 'General'. Now re-enter your formula

Hi
if you like you can email me your sheet and I'll have a look at it.

I tried both of these suggestions already. Neither worked.
