Insert Function Symbol has replaced the "=" symbol on the
default formula bar. How do I restore the default "="?

On my xl2002 the formula bar is blank unless you highlight a formula.

It seems to be the new default for Excel 2003. I would really like to know how to get the '=' back on the formula bar too!

That way in xl2002, too.

You can drag the equal sign icon to your favorite toolbar (keep it close to the
formula bar).

tools|Customize|commands tab|Insert category
look for that equal sign icon and drag it.
