I am creating a form that is spreadsheet style, my question is how can I get
the table I am using to sort itself by one column?

I think you may be using a form in "Datasheet" view.

Open you form in Form View (not design view). Right click the header of the
datasheet column you want to sort by and select the either sort A-Z
(Asending) or Z-A (Desending)
