Forms

I have a 5 page form. Is there anyway that I can have the staff edit the
header when the form it locked? I don't want them to be able to unlock the
form. If the document gets seperated the staff won't know what client it goes
to. So, if they can edit the header they can put the client name and client
number in once and shows up in the header of each page.

Thanks,

If you have the information input anywhere in the form you could use REF
fields to replicate it elsewhere. For instance, you could set your form to
have a different first page header with no header. In place of the header
put the info in a field in the body of your document. What you are talking
about is what Word calls an "online form." For more about online forms,
follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or

Chapman's series of articles.

Hope this helps,

REF fields in the header/footer of a protected form will not update without
use of a macro. What does work very well, however, is a StyleRef field.
Create a character style based on Default Paragraph Font. It can be
identical to DPF except for the name. Apply this style to the form field you
want to repeat in the header, then use Insert | Field to insert a StyleRef
field to pick up that style. This updates automatically.
