Forms Help Needed --WEBBOT-SELF--

Guest

I am having an issue with creating a form and I need help.

Here is the webpage:

http://www.oxforddemocrats2007.com/indexbackup.htm

I want to collect names, email addresses, and comments, yet when I enter an
email address, it brings me to an error page with the following address:

http://www.oxforddemocrats2007.com/--WEBBOT-SELF--

I followed the instructions exactly to set this up, Frontpage extensions are
enabled on my hosting site, so how do I resolve this issue so that when the
SUBMIT button is clicked, the data is sent to me?

Thanks

Brett

How did you upload the form to the live/remote server?

Has the web host configured the extensions to process email?

If you are trying to test it on your local PC before publishing, it won't
work. If you are trying it on the live web site, and it's not working, your
host may not have configured the forms to email transport in the Server
Extensions:

Once the page was created, I simply uploaded the page to the server using an
FTP client (CuteFTP). I know Frontpage extensions are enabled on the server,
but that is it.

The website does not appear to have FrontPage extensions installed.
This is indicated by a 404 error on
http://www.oxforddemocrats2007.com/_vti_inf.html which is normally
present when extensions are installed.

Either install FrontPage extensions, then republish using http://
or change the form properties to point to a server side script (ask your
host what they support or offer) to process the form data.

If the extensions are installed, then open the site at
http://www.oxforddemocrats2007.com in FrontPage and run
Tools->Recalculate Hyperlinks.

You can not use FTP to publish...the forms won't work. You must http
publish to a site that has the FP server extensions installed.

Now, by using FTP, you have most likely corrupted the extensions, so you'll
need to contact your host to repair them or reinstall them.

Also, my test indicate the extensions are *not* installed.

Tom,

Ronx suggested I open the actual site in Frontpage from the server and then
use the TOOLS - RECALCULATE function. I did this and everything works
perfectly now.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Great! Remember, always use http to publish, not FTP.
