Formatting XP home

How do I format XP home (NTFS) ?
I need to reinstall XP and have a problem clearing it
completely from my hard disk - having previously done an
upgrade from Win ME
I tried DOS 6.2 using FORMAT - but doesn't work on NTFS
partition - There's no "Create Boot Disk" facility in XP -
even if there was - would that give a FORMAT facility ?

Simple - enter the BIOS (see your computer documentation) and set the CD
drive as the initial boot drive then boot from the XP CD and follow the
instructions.

Steve if you are more comfortable booting with a 98 boot disk then do so and
just run fdisk at the prompt. When this is activated then select delete the
non-dos partition.

Now your hard drive is clean for you to start over and if you want Fat32 (I
wouldn't) then just use the format command. If you do not format with the
floppy then reboot with the XP CD and format (preferable) install XP.

HTH good luck.
