formatting problems when sharing files

Have tried everything but for some reason when I send a
doc file to my client the page breaks are all messed up.
Really need to resolve this problem ASAP. Any ideas?
Have tried saving the file as an earlier version of word
as well as unchecking the printer matrix option under the
options tab.
