formatting a cell

I need to change the formatting of a cell from a dollar amount to a format
that appears DDDDDDDDCC (D=dollars and C=cents). When I custom format the
cell to 10 digits it makes a whole number like 160 appear in the fields as
1.60 (without the decimal). I need it to appear as 0000016000. How can I
format the cell to add the cents on the end of the dollar amount?

I don't think you'll be able to do this using formatting.

But you could use a helper cell:

=text(a1*100,"0000000000")

(maybe hide the original column???)

Dave - Thank you soooo much for your help. I knew there had to be a way to
do what I wanted to do, but couldn't get it figured out. You started my day
