formatted autocorrect text

Is it possible to have autocorrect insert formatted text? I have a pair of
words that I insert together which I like to be in italics always. Is it
possible to type them in normally and have autocorrect italicize them?

Yes. Type the words in a document and format them the way you want them
(e.g., italics). Select the formatted words. Open the Tools > AutoCorrect
dialog. Just above the box that shows the words, there are two radio buttons
labeled Plain text and Formatted text; click the Formatted one, and the box
should show the formatting. Type the same words (or an abbreviation) in the
Replace box and click the Add button.

Note that AutoCorrect is triggered only by the keyboard, not by pasting or
other methods of insertion. If you do paste in the words, then put the
cursor to the right of the last letter and type a space or punctuation --
that will trigger AutoCorrect.
