Formating sound bites?

I have a 2 part question.
First
What is the best format to have sound bits in for PPT. We are taking out
parts of interviews that are on a DVD and adding the sound bites to the
presentation. What is the best format to have them in to play natively? One
suggestion has been to have them in wave format.
Second
We use PPT for both presentation and print. The presentation must match the
printed report. Now that sound is wanted for the presentation end of the
project I am suggesting we have 2 files one for print and one for the
presentation. Reason is I am concerned that when we take the report to print
having the sound files might cause a problem for the printer, especially when
sending the file through the RIP. So I am asking your opinion should we have
two versions, one for presentation and and one for print?

Thank you for your time and expertise, it is truly appreciated.

1) Put them in wav format
2) I don't see where sound files would be a problem with regards to
printing. If you're that concerned about potential problems, it wouldn't hurt
to make a "soundless" copy for the rip.
Hope this helps!!!
